Burstall is a small town in southwestern Saskatchewan, within the Rural Municipality of Deer Forks No. 232. The area was originally settled by Germans, mostly Lutherans from South Russia, and the town still has a Lutheran church alongside a Catholic church and an Evangelical Missionary church.
Natural gas, wheat and cattle farming are the main economies of the area. Around 1978 the town committee began a calendar that notes everyone's birthday, anniversary and passing on each day of the year.
Today the community hall, which holds 300 people, also houses the offices of the RM of Deer Forks and the Town of Burstall. Residents have a hockey arena, a curling club, a bowling alley and a nine-hole golf course with a clubhouse built in 2016. In past summers, the local Lions Club organized an activity known as Summer Slam.
